Mt. Olive provides age appropriate
learning experiences in a Christ Centered Environment

Kindergarten Class (5-6 year olds) (Must be 5 by Sept 1 of that school year.) * We offer all day Kindergarten 4 days per week. The day will be organized with more structured academics in the morning and free choice periods in the afternoon. During free choice time, the students may choose from different intentional learning centers set up around the room. This class meets from 9:15-2:45. Class size will be limited to 18 students. ***

Kindergarten Readiness Class (5-6 year olds) * This class is designed for Children who are old enough for Kindergarten but parents feel they are not yet ready for the Kindergarten experience. The day will be organized much like a Preschool day with more structured activities to prepare the child for Kindergarten. We will accept children who turn 5 during the month of September. This class meets 2 days per week from 9:15-2:45. Class size will be limited to 20 students.

Extended Day Pre-Kindergarten (4 - 5 year olds) * This class is specially designed to give students a more relaxed opportunity for learning through the day. They are encouraged to expand their learning through hands-on, developmentally appropriate experiences. Children have more opportunity to immerse themselves in the theme being studied. "Quiet reading" time will be scheduled as part of the schedule after lunch to provide a rest time for those who still need it. This class meets 2 days per week from 9:15-2:45. Class size will be limited to 20 students.

Books are Fun Class (4-5-6 year old) * This class is a literature-based class using books as the theme for the day. Our projects enhance the theme of the book for that day. Classes do journals and other enhancement activities in addition to traditional preschool activities. This class meets one day per week and may be added on to any 4, 5 or 6 year old class from 9:15 to 2:45. This class meets 1 day per week from 9:15-2:45. Class size will be limited to 20 students.

* Children will bring a lunch from home and the school will provide the milk. On special occasions hot lunch will be available.

Traditional 4-5 year old Preschool (must be 4 by Sept 1 of school year) Experiences are provided that meet children's needs and stimulate learning in all developmental areas. Weekly themes are followed with a balance of structured and unstructured learning experiences. We offer 2 day 4-5 year old class from 9:15-11:45. Class size will be limited to 20 students.

Traditional 3-4 year old Preschool (must be 3 by Sept 1 of school year & toilet trained) Children's learning happens through their play and exploration at intentional learning centers set up throughout the room. Activities are designed to help strengthen small and large motor skills. We offer 2 day and 1 day a week 3-4 year old classes. Classes limited to 16 students. Classes are 9:15-11:45.

Mixed Age Group 3-4-5 year old class
This mixed age grouping will capitalize on the differences in the experience, knowledge, and abilities of the children within a typical preschool day. This class meets 2 days per week from 12:30-3:00. Class size limited to 20 students.

Young 3's class (for children who turn 3 after Sept 1, 2007 through Jan 1, 2008.) The class will begin the first week of Jan, 2008 meeting one day per week from 9:15-11:45. Children do need to be toilet trained by the start of the class. Class size is limited to 16 students.

Parent and 2's (Children need to be 24 months of age by the start of the class and DO NOT need to be toilet trained.) We will run a 12 week session in the fall from mid September through mid December plus a Winter/Spring February through April session one day per week from 9:15-11:15. Activities would be tailor made for 2 year olds. Parents would participate in interactive activities with their child individually and in group activities. Opportunities for parents to discuss issues pertaining to those terrific two year olds will include toilet training, exploration play, power struggles, positive discipline, and developmentally appropriate activities. Class size limited to 10 students.

Additional classes may be added as needed when the above classes fill.

Mt. Olive reserves the right to cancel a class if enrollment is too small in any particular class. Families would be notified and every effort would be made to help them find an alternative class at our center. If no class would meet your needs, the registration fee and any prepaid tuition would be fully refunded.

*** Kindergarten must have a minimum of 10 students by February 15, 2007 in order to be in operation for the 2007-2008 school year.

Our programs are licensed by the State of Minnesota. All teachers are experienced and have a four-year degree and or Early Childhood certification.

A $25 non-refundable registration fee is due at the time of registration for Parent and Two’s
A $40 non-refundable registration fee is due at the time of registration for Preschool.
A $75 non-refundable registration fee is due at the time of registration for Kindergarten.
($15 registration fee for additional family members or classes added for same year) There is a 10% tuition discount for additional students in the family.
A 4% discount is given for tuition paid in full at the beginning of the year.
** Mt. Olive Members will receive a voucher booklet for discounted tuition.
